CWG2014 tickets sold danK

Over 2.3 million tickets have been requested for the 1 million seats that were available and we’re now passing the 300 days left mark until the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games begins at Celtic Park where the Opening Ceremony will officially start 11 days of fantastic sport. Hundreds of millions of viewers round the world will tune in and many will be watching  the gymnasts compete in the newly constructed Hydro Arena battling it out to become Commonwealth Champion. In a significant change from most events the Men’s and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics competition will run over 5 days back to back going through qualification, Team Final, All Around finals and straight on into Apparatus Finals. A gruelling challenge for all the gymnasts involved. In another change from previous games the judging contingent will include many judges from non-commonwealth countries to completely fulfil requirements stipulated by the FIG. No one is going to be getting much rest but the spectators will definitely be winners as long as they can find a screen to sit behind each day to get their fix.

Those lucky enough to get a ticket will have an amazing experience as the prestigious Hydro Arena is already looking fantastic in its prime location at the heart of Glasgow right on the banks of the River Clyde. And with an impressive track record of hosting gymnastics – including annual World Grand Prix events since 1997, the World Acrobatics Gymnastics Championships in 2008,  the 10th Gymnastics World Cup Final in 2000, and of course the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in 2015 – Glasgow is showing that it loves its sport and it loves its gymnastics.

The questions is: what are we going to do for the next 300 days while we wait?
